Step 1: Are you in your last semester of an approved optometry school*, or have graduated from an approved optometry school*?
If yes, go to Step 2. If the answer is no, you are not eligible to apply for a license.
Step 2: If you are in your last semester of an approved optometry school, go to Instruction and Application Links page. If you are a graduate, go to the additional “decision tree.”
*Approved Colleges of Optometry: Colleges of Optometry are approved by the Texas Optometry Board based upon accreditation standards established by the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education of the American Optometric Association. A list of approved optometry schools is available on the ACOE’s website.
